Malheureusement, la magnifique horloge qu’elle devait pr\u00e9senter \u00e0 son jury a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9truite le soir du meurtre. Par Antoine? Est-ce le mobile du crime? Ma\u00eblle a beau clamer son innocence, et les autres apprentis, ainsi que leurs ma\u00eetres, faire front avec elle, elle semble cacher beaucoup de choses, et joue avec les nerfs de Marleau. Le corps de Clara Santini est retrouv\u00e9 sans vie au bord d\u2019un lac. Marleau sent vite que l’affaire tourne autour du trio que Clara formait avec son compagnon, Gabin Vauthier, un officier de marine surnomm\u00e9 \u00ab l’Amiral \u00bb, et Jade, une adolescente impliqu\u00e9e dans une s\u00e9rie de vols.
Clara et Gabin avaient le projet de cr\u00e9er une base nautique pour enfants d\u00e9favoris\u00e9s, ce qui ne plaisait pas \u00e0 tout le monde, dont un h\u00f4telier qui avait lui aussi le projet d’exploiter les berges du lac.
Plus Marleau s’enfonce dans ce microcosme, plus les cartes se brouillent. Qui est r\u00e9ellement Jade ? Quel est son lien avec Vauthier?
Marleau finira par comprendre que c’est le pass\u00e9 de \u00ab\u00a0L’Amiral\u00a0\u00bb et sa relation aussi amoureuse que complexe avec la victime qui sont au c\u0153ur du myst\u00e8re. C\u2019est ce que le capitaine Marleau va tenter de d\u00e9m\u00ealer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Malgr\u00e9 le charme qu\u2019ils excercent, Marleau ne tarde pas \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir les rivalit\u00e9s et tensions derri\u00e8re l\u2019unit\u00e9 de fa\u00e7ade des Meyer\u00a0: la m\u00e8re, Katel, a des \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9clipses\u00a0\u00bb, elle s\u2019emm\u00eale les pinceaux entre pass\u00e9 et pr\u00e9sent, elle se revoit au temps de sa jeunesse, avec sa patronne ha\u00efe, B\u00e9n\u00e9dicte Hartmann, dont le souvenir la hante.<\/p>

L\u2019a\u00een\u00e9e, Augustine, s\u2019est tourn\u00e9e vers la foi, elle se consacre \u00e0 sa m\u00e8re atteinte d\u2019Alzheimer et refuse de vendre la brasserie. Pour elle, on ne brade pas son pass\u00e9. Clara a g\u00e9r\u00e9 la brasserie jusque l\u00e0. Elle en a fait, apparemment, une affaire prosp\u00e8re, un business international. Pourquoi veut-elle vendre un bien si florissant\u00a0?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Reste P\u00e9tra, la jolie \u00e9cervel\u00e9e de la famille, qui passe son temps \u00e0 s\u2019amuser, danser en bo\u00eete de nuit, pour oublier qu\u2019elle est seule et se consid\u00e8re comme le vilain petit canard de la famille.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

A moins que tout ne soit d\u00fb \u00e0 la vente de la brasserie. Car Augustine finit par r\u00e9v\u00e9ler \u00e0 Marleau que son p\u00e8re, alors que la promesse venait d\u2019\u00eatre sign\u00e9e chez le notaire, avait brusquement retourn\u00e9 sa veste et annonc\u00e9 qu\u2019il ne voulait plus vendre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
